WalkSprint
Privacy Policy
WalkSprint is a privacy-first running app. Everything you record stays on your device — and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud. We never collect, receive, or store any of your data.
Who We Are
WalkSprint is a walk/run interval-training app developed and published by Nuke Submarine, based in the United Kingdom. If you have any questions about this privacy policy, please contact us at nuke@nukesubmarine.com.
Data Stored On Your Device
WalkSprint does not send any data to us. The following is stored only on your device (using Apple's SwiftData) and, if you turn on iCloud, synced to your own private iCloud — never to us:
- •Your run history and stats
- •Your training plan and your progress through it
- •Any custom workouts you create
- •Your app settings and preferences
- •For outdoor runs, the route, distance, and pace you record
Location
WalkSprint uses your location only during outdoor runs, with your permission, to measure your route, distance, and pace. It requests "While Using the App" location access — not "Always." So that tracking stays accurate while your screen is off or locked during a run, it uses background location for the duration of that run. Your location data is stored on your device and your own iCloud and is never transmitted to us or any third party. You can decline location access, or revoke it later in iOS Settings — outdoor runs will then work as timer-only, with no route or distance. Treadmill runs never use location.
Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect any of the following:
- •Your name, email address, or any contact information
- •Advertising identifiers or device identifiers
- •Usage analytics or crash reports
- •Payment information
- •Any data sent to our servers (we operate none)
WalkSprint contains no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs or frameworks that collect data.
How We Use Your Data
Because we never receive your data, we do not use it in any way. Every feature runs on data held on your device (and your own iCloud).
Data Sharing
We do not share any data with anyone. There are no advertising partners, analytics providers, or data brokers involved in WalkSprint.
iCloud
If you use iCloud, WalkSprint stores your data in your personal, private iCloud account so it can sync across your devices. This is your own iCloud, managed by Apple — we have no access to it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your data exists only on your device and your own iCloud. You can delete individual runs in the app, delete WalkSprint (which removes its local data), and manage or remove its iCloud data through iOS Settings → iCloud. We cannot access or delete your data for you, because we never receive it.
Children's Privacy
WalkSprint is a general-purpose fitness app and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. As the app collects no personal data, children's data is equally protected.
Your Rights Under UK GDPR
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and EU GDPR — and, for US residents, laws such as the CCPA/CPRA — you have rights including access, correction, deletion, and the right to object to processing. Because WalkSprint holds no personal data with us (it all stays on your device and your own iCloud), these rights are automatically satisfied — there is nothing held by us to access, correct, or delete, and you remain in full control of your data on your device. If you have any concerns, please contact us at nuke@nukesubmarine.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
The security of your data rests on your device's security and, for iCloud, on Apple's iCloud security. We recommend keeping your device updated and protected with a passcode or biometric lock. Because we transmit no data to our own servers, there is no server-side breach risk on our side.
Third-Party Services
WalkSprint uses no data-collecting third-party SDKs or frameworks. It is distributed through the Apple App Store, and iCloud sync uses Apple's iCloud — Apple's privacy policy governs how Apple handles data related to downloads, purchases, and iCloud. (If we add Apple Health support in a future version, we will update this policy before releasing it.)
Changes to This Policy
If we make any changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date below. If we ever introduce features that collect personal data, we will update this policy before releasing those features and notify users through the app.
