Privacy Policy
Scanhaus is on-device by default. The developer collects nothing and runs no server. Optional iCloud Backup and Sync is off by default and stores your documents only in your own iCloud, where Apple encrypts them.

Data Stored On Your Device
All content — scanned page images, recognised text, documents, folders, and tags — is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework and the app's private container, and synced to your own iCloud only if you enable iCloud Backup and Sync. Scanned images are protected with iOS file encryption (Data Protection) while your device is locked. The developer has no access to this data.
On-Device Processing
Scanning, edge detection, image enhancement, optical character recognition (OCR), and PDF creation all happen entirely on your device using Apple frameworks (VisionKit, Vision, PDFKit, Core Image). The developer operates no backend and receives none of your content. Unless you turn on iCloud Backup and Sync, your documents stay on your device.
App Lock
If you enable App Lock, authentication is performed by iOS using Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode. Scanhaus never sees or stores your biometrics or passcode.
Data We Do Not Collect
We collect none of the following: your name, email, or contact information; the documents or text you scan; advertising or device identifiers; usage analytics or crash reports (no analytics SDK is present); payment information (all purchases are handled by Apple); any data transmitted to our servers (we operate none). Scanhaus contains no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs that collect data.
Camera and Photos
Camera access is used to scan documents; photo-library access is used to import images you choose. These images are processed and stored on your device, and are sent only to your own iCloud if you enable iCloud Backup and Sync. They are never uploaded to us.
Exporting and Sharing
PDFs and other exports are generated locally on your device and shared directly through the iOS share sheet (AirDrop, Files, Mail, Messages, Print, and more). Nothing is routed through Nuke Submarine servers. Exported files are written to a temporary cache and removed after sharing.
iCloud
Scanhaus offers optional iCloud Backup and Sync. It is off by default and is turned on only by you, through an explicit consent screen that explains what will be synced before anything leaves your device. When enabled, your documents are stored in your own iCloud account using CloudKit's private database, where Apple encrypts them, and are governed by Apple's privacy policy. Nuke Submarine cannot read the contents of that database and has no access to your iCloud. Turning the setting off stops future syncing. Data already synced remains in your iCloud until you remove it there.
How We Use Your Data
We never receive your data, so we do not use it. Every feature runs on your device, and the only data that ever leaves it is what you choose to sync to your own iCloud or share yourself.
Data Sharing
We share nothing with anyone. There are no advertising partners, analytics providers, or data brokers involved with Scanhaus.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your data exists on your device, and in your own iCloud if you enable iCloud Backup and Sync. You can delete documents within the app, or delete the app to remove all local data; anything already synced remains in your iCloud until you remove it there. We cannot access or delete your data on your behalf — we never receive it.
Purchases
Scanhaus includes a free tier of 10 scanned pages for the lifetime of the installation, counted per page. After that, a single one-time in-app purchase (Scanhaus Pro) unlocks continued use. There is no subscription. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store; Nuke Submarine does not receive or store any payment information.
Children's Privacy
Scanhaus is a general-purpose productivity app and is not directed at children under 13. We collect no personal data from anyone.
Your Rights Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR
Under the UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and applicable US laws (including CCPA/CPRA), you have rights including access, correction, and deletion of personal data. Because Scanhaus holds no personal data on our side, these rights are automatically satisfied — you remain in full control of the content on your device. Contact us at nuke@nukesubmarine.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
The security of your data rests on your device's own security. Scanned documents are stored with iOS file encryption, and we recommend keeping your device updated and protected with a passcode or biometric lock. If you enable iCloud Backup and Sync, your documents are encrypted by Apple in your own iCloud account. Because we operate no servers and receive no data from you, there is no server-side breach risk on our side.
Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to this policy, we will update the Last updated date below. If we ever introduce features that collect personal data, we will update this policy before releasing those features.
